Asian Women of Achievement Awards 2012
This is the most established and prestigious programme for Asian female business leaders, community workers and cultural figures in the UK, supported by patrons Cherie Blair and HRH Princess Badiya bint El Hassan, and leaders from UK government, business and the media.
Created by Pinky Lilani OBE in 1999, the awards have recognised, and provided a platform for an exciting generation of Asian female groundbreakers - such as comedy actress Nina Wadia; civil rights activist Shami Chakrabarti; and Ruby McGregor-Smith, the first Asian Woman to lead a FTSE 250 business.

New awards this year:
Asian Woman of Achievement Community Award
A new award recognising organisations that are promoting ethnic diversity within their own workforce, as well as promoting greater understanding of diversity across the UK.
Asian Woman of Achievement in Sport
A new category, introduced to mark the 2012 London Olympic Games, recognising the emerging stars of UK sport. Across all sports, Asian women are making their impact felt, enhancing the performance of teams as well as setting new personal standards.
