Community

A new award recognising organisations that are promoting ethnic diversity within their own workforce, as well as promoting greater understanding of diversity across the UK.

Sport

A new category, introduced to mark the 2012 London Olympic Games, recognising the emerging stars of UK sport. Across all sports, Asian women are making their impact felt, enhancing the performance of teams as well as setting new personal standards.

Young Achiever

This award recognises the talents of rising stars in the UK, across all sectors. It is open to women under 30 (on December 30, 2011)

Social & Humanitarian

This award recognises the remarkable and inspiring work women are doing within this area. This is open to candidates either doing work within their local area, regionally or at a national level.

Public Service

This award celebrates Asian women who have achieved success in senior executive or non-executive roles in the civil service, universities and our national institutions such as the NHS.

Professions

This award recognises women who have trained and qualified in their chosen professional practice and have become a leading practitioner. This award is open to all areas of professional practice e.g legal, accountancy, medicine, education and architecture.

Media

This award recognises women working in the area of broadcast, print or electronic media. From front-line journalism to production and technical, we are looking for women who have made a significant contribution to the success of the media company they work for or their personal media brand.

Entrepreneur

This award recognises women who have set up and grown their own businesses. Entrepreneurship, across private business and social enterprise, has the power to galvanise markets and create prosperity and jobs.

Business

This award recognises Asian businesswomen thriving in small, medium-sized and large organisations – quoted, independently owned or part of the public/charity sector. (Owners or managers of businesses should apply for the Entrepreneur category).

Arts & Culture

This award recognises women flourishing the world of performing and visual arts, arts management, creative writing and on-screen arts.

The RBS Chairman's Award

This special award is presented by the Chair of the judging panel to one outstanding woman of achievement who, the judges feel, most exemplifies the values and aspirations of the Asian Women of Achievement Awards.
